And the Bride Wore White; Part Four
~Breaking up is hard to do~
Life is a roller coaster ride of emotions that plague us daily; reeking havoc on us physically and emotionally. One minute you're happy-go-lucky and the next minute your world has turned upside down.
Breaking up is hard to do and a lot of times it seems impossible and it can even be painful. If you've ever dated or hung around a guy-friend for a good amount of time, you may have begun to feel, well, trapped. Possibly even pressured to get physical and so on....
"I know breakin' up is hard to do. I know the pain is something no one else can seem to reach. Understand that God can." (Dannah Gresh).Whether you've been in a situation where you've had to breakup with your boyfriend or you've never been in that situation, this doesn't exclude you....Maybe your struggling to make the right choices, but can't seem to get the courage to take the LEAP OF FAITH and let go.
Psalm 55:22 says that we are to:
"Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall."1 Peter 5:7 says this:
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."No matter how low you fall or how high you stand, everyone has something hidden deep down that keeps them broken and weak. It's hard to take that step--even with God's help is sometimes seemed impossible. But you must have faith and lean on God for strength. You cannot do it alone. God is willing to walk beside you through the storm and help you when you are weak and defenseless just like He did with Peter in Matthew 14:25-31:
"During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified.
'It's a ghost,' they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.'
'Lord, if it's you,' Peter replied, 'tell me to come to you on the water.' 'Come,'he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. 'You of little faith,' he said, 'why did you doubt?' And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God.'"
It's amazing how much God truly cared about Peter. He didn't let him drown! Even when Peter was of little faith, God came to his rescue and helped him back on his feet.Whether you've lost faith, sight of God or you are caught up in a sticky relationship--cast your eyes upon the Lord and give Him all your troubles.
"Scripture is clear that we must walk away from anything that hinders our love for God."( Danna Gresh). If your are in a relationship and are being pressured to get physical or can't seem to get the courage to say NO and walk away, think about the thing you want the most--is this person more important than the relationship you and God share? Is it more important than your love for God? Or is God all you need?
